Ukrainian sugar and other goods that arrive in Uzbekistan are not unloaded or cleared due to the ban on accepting goods from Ukraine.
This is reported by the association “ Ukrtsukor “ on Friday, November 30.
“Such a sudden stop leads to non-fulfillment of the conditions of previously concluded contracts. And given the fact that the last six months, the main importer of domestic sugar was it Uzbekistan, we can say that we lose the primary market “, – said the head of analytical department of” Ukrtsukor Association “Ruslan Butilo.
The Association sent an official appeal to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine with a request to provide clarifications and resolve the situation regarding the detention of Ukrainian products when imported into the territory of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that for the 2017-2018 marketing year, Ukraine supplied 560.4 thousand tons of sugar to foreign markets, Uzbekistan became the main buyer, importing almost 210 thousand tons of sugar in the amount of 79.1 million dollars.
