MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Russia’s two strategic bombers Tupolev-95MS have carried out a routine flight over the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk and the Western Pacific. On some sections of the route they were accompanied by Japanese fighter jets, the Russian Defense Ministry said, adding that Sukhoi-35S fighters provided protection for the bombers.

According to the National Defense Control Center, the bombers’ crews spent more than 15 hours in the air and carried out inflight refueling.

Russia’s strategic bombers regularly carry out flights over international waters of the Arctic, Atlantic, Black Sea and Pacific Ocean.

The Defense Ministry said all such flights were in strict compliance with international rules and without any violations of other countries’ borders.
