HAVANA, October 31. /TASS/. The contract for procurement of S-400 surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems provides for an option after completion of the bulk of deliveries, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Yuri Borisov told reporters on Wednesday.

“Many desire our air defense system. Firstly, Turkey has an option,” the official said.

Borisov did not detail the option scope.

The fact of contract was confirmed by the Russian side on September 12, 2017. The delivery price of S-400 SAM systems to Turkey amounts to $2.5 bln, CEO of Rostec Corporation Sergei Chemezov said in December 2017.

Turkey is the first NATO member-state to receive SAM systems of such class from Russia.
