Police in New Zealand reported that, according to investigators, the responsibility for both attacks on the mosques in Christchurch is carried by one person – Brenton Tarrant, who is in custody by a court decision, said New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush on Saturday.

“We now hold Tarrant responsible for both attacks. By the date of the next trial, new charges will be brought against him, however, which ones will be determined by the investigation, ”Bush said.

Earlier it became known that the court left Brenton Tarrant in custody until April 5.

On Friday after the afternoon prayer, several people broke into two mosques in New Zealand – in the city of Christchurch and its suburb of Lynnwood – killing 49 people and injuring about 40 more , including children. According to law enforcement agencies, four people were detained after the shooting: three men and one woman. However, the police noted that they could not argue that there were no other suspects.
