The Russian authorities will give an official assessment of the Ukrainian elections after the second round.

This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“The elections in Ukraine are not over, the second round is coming, therefore, it’s too early to give any official conclusions,” he said.

According to Peskov, “you need to wait.”

Also Peskov did not comment on the result of Vladimir Zelensky, who was leading in the first round.

“While the elections are not over, until the second round takes place and the winner is not found, we consider it premature to speak,” he said, adding that the Russian side will not send congratulations to any of the candidates in connection with the release of the second round of presidential elections in Ukraine.

“While the elections are not over, it would probably be wrong to congratulate you on going to the second round, therefore, naturally, this is not the case – because the winner of the election has not yet been determined in Ukraine,” said a Kremlin spokesman.
