MOSCOW, Aug. 28, 2018 / PRNewswire / – The authorities of the Chinese city of Chengdu and the Russian government have signed agreements on the implementation of seven projects worth more than 8 billion yuan of the PRC (about $ 1.1 billion). Signing of the relevant agreements took place during the bilateral Conference on the promotion of economic and trade cooperation, held in Moscow on August 24, 2018. The agreements cover a wide range of industries, including biopharmaceutical production, digital information, public infrastructure, culture and music.
Within the week of Chengdu, a promotional campaign “Panda Chengdu in Russia” was organized in Moscow, organized by the municipal governments of Chengdu and the Russian capital. Over 200 guests took part in the event, including representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Russia, city authorities of the two cities, Russian business associations and companies involved in relevant industries and commerce, as well as various Sichuan firms. The main focus of the campaign was on a favorable investment climate in Chengdu and the prospects for the development of this region.
During the conference dedicated to the promotion of business ties, the tourism market and the opportunities for organizing various conventions in Chengdu, the official representative of the Commerce Committee of the capital of the Chinese province of Sichuan highlighted the implementation of the Sino-European railway express project and the opportunities that the opening of the freight railway communication between two parts of the mainland.
Within the framework of the three-day Chengdu Week in Moscow, there was also an exhibition of achievements of cross-border e-commerce under the thematic title “The Silk Road in the Clouds”. The first of its kind event was organized by the People’s Government of Chengdu to introduce Russian consumers and businessmen to the products of regional Chinese enterprises – textiles, clothing, electronics, etc. The exposition, which took place in the territory of the park “Krasnaya Presnya” in Moscow, attracted a lot of attention
