MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Russia’s national football team has sunk to the 48th place from its last month’s 41st position, according to FIFA’s updated rating published on the world football organization’s website on Thursday.
The Russian national team currently packs a total of 1424 points, which is nine points less against the previous month after the national squad lost 0-3 in a friendly match to Germany on November 15 and then yielded to Sweden 0-2 in the UEFA Nations League match on November 20.
The Belgian team, often referred to as ‘the Red Devils,’ maintains the top spot of the international ranking list with 1727 points.
“Belgium remain top of the latest FIFA World Ranking, although the gap between the Red Devils, France (2nd, unchanged, 1726 points ) and Brazil (3rd, unchanged, 1676 points) has narrowed over the past month,” a statement from FIFA reads.
The top ten of the best national football teams, according to the new ranking list, also includes the squads from Croatia (4th, 1634 points), England (5th, 1631 points), Portugal (6th, 1614 points), Uruguay (7th, 1609 points), Switzerland (8th, 1599 points), Spain (9th, 1591 points) and Denmark (10th, 1589 points).
The next edition of FIFA’s ranking list is due to be published on December 20, 2018.
