MOSCOW, December 6. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev starts his two-day visit to India on Thursday.

“Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev will visit New Delhi on December 6-7, where he will meet with the Indian prime minister’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and hold Russian-Indian inter-departmental consultations on security,” the Russian Security Council’s press service said.

Patrushev maintains regular contacts with Indian colleagues in bilateral and multilateral formats. He met with Doval in January 2017 in Moscow. The sides discussed fight against terrorism, among other things. In November 2017, Patrushev met with India’s Home Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss cooperation in cyber security and anti-terrorism efforts. The Russian Security Council secretary met with Doval again in September 2018 in Tehran, where the sides discussed cooperation between Russian and Indian defense ministries and law enforcement agencies.

Over the last years, Patrushev held many meetings with Indian colleagues in the formats of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) and SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organizaiton), as well as in the framework of international meetings of high-ranking representatives on security issues.
