MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. The VR-Technologies innovation design office of the holding company Helicopters of Russia has presented a new light helicopter model VRT500 at the Fuorisalone show in Milan, the holding company’s press-service said on Wednesday.

“The design bureau VR-Technologies of the holding company Helicopters of Russia (an affiliate of Rostec) has presented a light multirole helicopter model VRT500 at the Fuorisalone show, being held within the framework of the Milan Design Week on April 8-14,” the press-release runs.

VR-Technologies CEO Alexander Okhonko said the helicopter will let the company “enter a market segment where it has not been represented yet.”

Specialists are now working on working specifications. A certification application will be filed at the European Aviation Safety Agency later this year. The first experimental sample may begin to be tested next year.

The light multi-role coaxial rotor helicopter VRT500 has a takeoff mass of 1.6 tonnes. It can seat up to five people, develop a speed of 250 km/h and have fuel endurance of 860 kilometers.
