Russian Foreign Ministry invites Hamas leader to Moscow

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Ministry has sent an invitation to Hamas’ political bureau head Ismail Haniyeh to visit Moscow, the politician’s press service said in a statement published by the Palinfo outlet.

According to the outlet, Aidar Aganin, the head of Russia’s mission to the Palestinian National Authority, conveyed the invitation at a meeting with Haniyeh in Gaza earlier on Wednesday. The parties discussed “recent domestic and global developments.”

Haniyeh “commended Russia’s position on the Palestine issue,” while the Russian diplomat pointed out that Moscow “has been making every possible effort at every level to support the Palestinian people.”

Moscow has not yet confirmed this information.
