MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/. Russian biathlete Alexander Loginov has come first in the men’s 10 km sprint event at the IBU World Cup Biathlon in Germany’s Oberhof, claiming his first World Cup win ever.

He shot clean and clocked in at 25:50.9. Norway’s Johannes Boe finished second (25.2 seconds back, one penalty) and Sebastian Samuelsson of Sweden was third (36.8 seconds back).

Loginov, 26, already got four podiums during the current season, finishing second in the sprint and pursuit competitions in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic, and coming third in two events in Slovenia’s Pokljuka.

The men’s pursuit competition is scheduled for January 12.
