MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Italy’s Roma FC will try to clinch the initiative and play on the offensive since the opening minutes of their Champions League group stage match against Russia’s CSKA Moscow FC on Wednesday, Eusebio Di Francesco, the head coach of the Italian club, said on Tuesday.
The second-leg group stage match between Roma and CSKA will be played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow starting at 8:55 p.m. Moscow time (17:55 GMT).
“We need to always come out controlling the ball, play the number one and this is what we will try to do tomorrow,” Di Francesco said. “Matches of the Italian championship and European Cups are different and we must learn to react and do faster some of the things.”
“The opening minutes of the match will be extremely important for us,” the Italian coach said. “We saw how CSKA played against Real Madrid (CSKA’s 1-0 win) and I can say that I enjoyed it.”
“Our opponents have good players in the midfield – Nikola Vasic and Alan Dzagoyev, and I would also like to point out Ivan Oblyakov and Mario Fernandes,” Di Francesko added.
After three matches played in its Group G, CSKA is in the 3rd place with four points. The group is led by Real Madrid with six points and is followed by Roma with six points as well. Czech FC Viktoria Plzen concludes the group with one point.
I its previous three games CSKA drew 2-2 with Viktoria Plzen on September 19, defeated Real Madrid 1-0 on October 2 and lost to Roma 0-3 on October 23.
