Putin ironically corrected the interpreter at a meeting with the head of the Swedish government Stefan Leuven, which was held following the results of the international forum “The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue”.

“Relationships are developing despite any difficulties. Last year, trade grew by more than 32%. Approximately 5 billion investments from our Swedish friendsour friends from Sweden — have been invested in the Russian economy, ”the Russian president said addressing the Prime Minister of the Kingdom.

“I said“ friends, ”and he [the translator, – approx. PB] translated “partners”. The gangster is simple, ”Putin said jokingly.

“Because we are all our investors, all Swedish companies – and there are more than 500 of them working in Russia – we regard as friends,” he explained.

“We have business advice. For our part, it is headed by Mr. Dmitriev, this is the Russian direct investment fund. From the Swedish side, this is the head of Volvo. We hope to see Swedish representatives at the next St. Petersburg Economic Forum, ”the head of state concluded.
