Poroshenko awarded the arrested sailors of the Ukrainian Navy

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko presented awards to relatives of sailors who were detained on November 25, 2018 as a result of an incident in the Kerch Strait.

“Given the courage and heroism of the Ukrainian naval sailors, prisoners of war shown during the performance of military duties, I decided to award the Ukrainian soldiers who are now in captivity of the Russian Federation,” he said during a meeting with relatives of prisoners of war on Friday in Odessa.

According to Poroshenko, the Ukrainian naval sailors proved to be “real knights, real warriors, true patriots and true professionals.”

Poroshenko presented awards to the relatives of sailors and expressed the hope that the military would be released as soon as possible and return home.
