The Ukrainian authorities intend to impose sanctions against Russia because of the Kerch incident and elections in the Donbass. This was during a meeting of the Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine on Wednesday, December 26, said President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

The draft of this decision will consider the NSDC.

According to Poroshenko, the sanctions list will include “those who attacked the Ukrainian ships, those who were involved in illegal trials, detentions, those who gave orders.”

“Today, a draft decision on the application of Ukraine’s sanctions for illegally holding elections in the occupied Donbas and aggression in the Black Sea will be put on the agenda of the meeting of the National Security Council. Against those who attacked our ships, those who were involved in illegal trials and detentions, and those who gave orders.

We must demonstrate to the world the determination of Ukrainian actions, since we see political support for the Duma in this process. A significant number of State Duma deputies are also entered into the sanctions list by a decision, and enterprises that act against Ukraine will also be subject to sanctions, ”Poroshenko said.
