MOSCOW, December 25./TASS/. Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanv, Opposition Bloc parliamentarian Alexander Vilkul and Ukraine’s First Deputy Minister of the Interior Sergey Yarovoy have been put on the list of Ukrainian individuals under Russian countersanctions.

Their names along with the names of a number of parliamentarians from the ruling Pyotr Poroshenko Bloc, Samopomich (Self Reliance) Party and officials are on the full list made public on the website of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers.

As a result, the total number of Ukrainian nationals falling under Russia’s sanctions is 576 people.

The list of Ukrainian individuals and legal entities under Russian countersanctions has been expanded by 200 names, the Russian government’s press-service said on Tuesday. Medvedev put his signature to the government resolution on the introduction of special economic measures against 322 Ukrainian citizens and 68 companies on November 1, 2018.

The sanctions envisaged the freeze of non-cash accounts, non-documentary securities and assets in Russian territory and a ban on capital transfers from Russia.

The government said that the introduction of Russian countermeasures was aimed at “resisting unfriendly actions towards Russian citizens and legal entities taken by Ukraine, the lifting of restrictions imposed by the Ukrainian side earlier, and the normalization of bilateral relations.”

The Russian government stated that the countersanctions it was imposing might be canceled if Ukraine lifted its own restrictive measures from Russian individuals and legal entities. Also, the Cabinet of Ministers reserved the right to expand the retaliatory measures.
