Moscow may hold Russia-Africa summit — Putin

JOHANNESBURG, July 27. /TASS/. Moscow is considering the idea of holding a Russia-Africa summit with heads of African states, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the meeting of BRICS leaders with invited heads of state in the outreach format.

“I would like to inform that we are considering the idea of holding a Russia-Africa summit with the participation of African heads of state,” he said.

Putin added that “meetings of prominent entrepreneurs, experts, public figures” may come before the summit. “I think that it is necessary to discuss this with the representatives of African countries,” he stressed.
