In Abkhazia, the military police unit of the Russian military base received a new large-caliber machine gun NSV “Cliff” on an anti-aircraft machine gun.
This was reported in the press service of the Southern Military District.
According to the instructions of Colonel-General Alexander Dvornikov, commander of the Southern Military District, military units of the district’s military are provided with “Cliffs” for conducting additional air defense of command posts from enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.
The 12.7-mm NSV “Cliff” is intended for the destruction of manpower, lightly armored targets, fortified firing points and enemy air assets. As ammunition, cartridges with armor-piercing incendiary B-32, armor-piercing incendiary-tracer BZT-44 and instant-action incendiary MDZ bullets are used.
The uniqueness of the NSV “Utes” machine gun on an anti-aircraft machine is the possibility of using it simultaneously for ground and air targets, including armored personnel carriers and enemy helicopters.
The base military unit formed at the end of last year will also receive modern Tiger armored vehicles in the near future and will be equipped with the latest military equipment, Kolpak and Turtle.
The military police unit is designed to ensure military discipline and law and order inside the military unit, on field exits and gatherings, and also in wartime for the protection of special objects.
