MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The results of the November 6 US midterm elections were rather expected, but it’s difficult to say how they will impact Russian-US relations, Kremlin Aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters on Wednesday.
“It’s evident that for all the election outcome was rather expected,” Ushakov said. “It’s difficult to predict any other result given the US political practice: usually during the mid-term elections the House of Representatives is won by the side, which is in the opposition.”
“Speaking on the influence of elections on developing Russian-US ties, we should wait and see what will be the impact,” he said.
During the midterm elections on November 6, President Donald Trump’s Republican Party increased its majority in the Senate, but ceded control over the House of Representatives to the Democratic opposition.
