In Europe, the United States is considered the source of the greatest threats to its security.
This is evidenced by a survey of the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation, conducted in seven European countries.
Most respondents are convinced that the security situation in Europe has deteriorated significantly over the past period, people are afraid of the start of a new war.
Half of the polled Germans believe that the threat is primarily created by the United States. Every fourth Frenchman thinks the same way.
Respondents are primarily concerned with armed conflict, terrorism, and climate change. The fear of war is the largest in Ukraine, in Poland and Russia. At the same time, the Poles believe that their country should increase defense spending.
Most of the polled citizens of Germany, France, Poland and 80% of Serbs are confident that their country should cooperate with the Russian Federation more than before.
