Confrontation in the Arctic: MiG-31 defended the “White Swans” from the F-16 (VIDEO)

Two strategic missile carriers Tu-160 VKS of the Russian Federation carried out a planned flight in the airspace above the neutral waters of the waters of the Barents, Norwegian and North seas.

It is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Russia. The crew of the MiG-31 interceptor fighter jets carried out the White Swans air support.

The flight duration was more than 13 hours.

During the flight, the crews of the Tu-160 and MiG-31 completed refueling in the air.

At certain stages of the route, Russian aircraft were escorted by F-16 fighters from the Norwegian and Danish air forces.

The Russian defense department recalled that long-range aviation pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black and Baltic Seas, and the Pacific Ocean.

All flights of the VKS RF airplanes are performed in strict accordance with the International Airspace Use Regulations.
