MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Russia’s Spartak Moscow football club suffered a 1-2 home defeat to Austria’s Rapid FC in a group stage match of the UEFA Europa League in the Russian capital on Thursday night.
Hosts Spartak FC opened the score 20 minutes into the game with a netter delivered by striker Ze Luis.
However, the guests tuned in after the mid-game break and scored two goals to seal the win with the goals from Mert Muldur on the 80th minute and from Philipp Schobesberger in the three-minute added time.
Rapid FC, which was at the bottom of the Group G before tonight’s match in Moscow, managed to snatch the victory over the hosts in the closing ten minutes of the game and soar to the top of the group.
Austria’s Rapid FC is currently in the top of the Group G with seven points, followed by Villareal FC (six points) and Rangers FC (five points).
Russia’s Spartak Moscow FC is in the fourth and last place of the group at the moment with five points and the club is scheduled to play an away match against Villareal on December 13.
