Arctic Awards ceremony is due in Moscow on December 1

MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. The Arctic Awards ceremony will take place in Moscow on December 1, the Awards Committee’s Chairperson and Vice President of the Polar Explorers’ Association Sergei Yegorov told a news conference in Moscow on Thursday.

The international Arctic Awards is given to outstanding public persons, representatives of culture, businesses, sports for their input in development of the Arctic Region.

In 2018, Yegorov said, the jury focused on novation projects when they analyzed about 2,500 works.

The official ceremony will be in Moscow. In 2018, the jury will also give awards to projects, implemented in the Antarctic.

The awards will be in nine nominations: “Achievements in exploration and development of Arctic and Antarctic,” “For a promising Arctic project.” “Scientific and educational activities,” “Literature and publications,” “Charity,” “Ecology,” “Cinema and television,” “Outstanding sports achievements,” “Development of children’s and youth’s sports in the world.” A special nomination will be for the media – “For the best media coverage of Arctic and Antarctic.”.
