BUENOS AIRES, November 30. /TASS/. A chemical attack, staged by terrorists in western Aleppo, cannot be left unpunished, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“In Syria, where militia groups continue their armed attacks on government forces, the attack against people in the western part of the city of Aleppo with the use of chemical toxic substances, presumably chlorine, that was committed on November 24 has become flagrant violation of the ceasefire regime,” the President stressed, speaking at the BRICS meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit. Dozens of Syrians had been injured, including children, Putin added.
“Such terrorist crimes should not go unpunished, otherwise, they will replicate similar atrocities,” he stressed.
Late on November 24, the militants in the Idlib de-escalation zone shelled residential areas of Aleppo with toxic gas, presumably chlorine. After the shelling, more than 70 people had been taken to hospital, according to Syrian doctors. Earlier, SANA news agency reported that at least 107 civilians were hospitalized after militants had fired shells at Aleppo.
